English Conversation
 Course Description: This course is designed to teach practical and useful English conversation, both for everyday life, and for the workplace.Learn how to navigate situations such as writing an email to your boss, negotiating with a landlord, or just everyday conversational skills. Current event articles are also chosen and discussed in detail. Homework will be given. |
Course Goals: By the end of this 8 week course students should be able to speak fluidly in various situations. They should feel more comfortable navigating difficult scenarios in English, such as interviews, phone conversations, and various workplace scenarios. Listening and Reading comprehension are also improved.
Course Curriculum: Our class follows the SWIRL methodology (Speaking, Writing, Intonation, Listening, and Reading). Each class contains a quiz of selected questions from common English tests, reading comprehension and translation, listening, conversation practice and role playing.
Maximum Attendance: 10 students is the maximum amount allowed, per class. We feel that having a smaller amount of students makes for a better language learning experience.
Time and Location: Either at Hills Learning or the office of the interested business
Prerequisite: It is generally assumed that students have a basic understanding of English conversation, vocabulary, and grammar. This class is designed to develop and apply acquired English knowledge.
