Pre-Intermediate Japanese Two

Description: This course is the second in our series of pre-intermediate Japanese. It focuses on improving speaking abilities in Japanese, such as applications of using the short form to speak more efficiently, and ways to avoid repetition in the language. It also covers comparison vocabulary such as “A is better than B,” and phrases for “I have done”, and “I intend to do.” Japanese Classes

Course Goals: To feel more comfortable speaking Japanese, and further enhance grammatical understanding. Reading and writing skills will also be enhanced. By the end of the class students should know about 120 Kanji.

Course Curriculum: Follows Genki I chapters 9 and 10. Depending on the ability of the class, this could be extended.

Maximum Attendance: We feel that having a smaller amount of students makes for a better language learning experience. Please signup now as space is limited to 8 students.

Prerequisites – it is recommended that you should have an understanding of:

- Hiragana and Katakana reading (and writing)

- Basic vocabulary in Japanese, such as beginner verbs, adjectives, nouns, degree adverbs, greetings, etc.

- The Te-form, expressions that use “teiru,” and quoted expressions with “ to omoimasu.”

- Familiarity with the long forms (masu) and nai-form

- Adjective conjugation, present, past and future
