Shinbun no Kurasu

Course Description: New York City has multiple free daily newspapers in Japanese, so why not use them to develop your language skills? This course is an advanced course that helps students learn Japanese through a common and accessible medium, the newspaper.  Students will learn vocabulary, grammar, and of course Kanji from reading articles on sports, economics, and current social issues.

Course Goals: To develop the necessary skills to read a Japanese newspaper. Besides developing grammar and vocabulary for Japanese, students will also learn common ways that sentences and headlines in newspapers are abbreviated and written.

Course Curriculum: Curriculum provided by Hills Learning. It is not necessary to buy your own text.

Maximum Attendance: We feel that having a smaller amount of students makes for a better language learning experience. Please sign up now as space is limited to 8 students.

Prerequisite: Ideally students will be studying for the N2 Level of the JLPT, or knowledge of about 1,000 Kanji and basic grammar and vocabulary. Please contact us with any questions.
